“The most important characteristics of a happy and meaningful relationship are trust and good communication” ~Pat Love, Ed.D
We’re not therapists at Y Collaborative, although we recognize the common sense in the quotation above. We absolutely believe, however, in communication, especially as it applies to letting our loved one’s know our wishes for our end-of-life care. For us, sooner is better than later. It’s easier to discuss what you want when you’re young and the issues are abstract, than when you’re elderly or facing a horrifying crisis.
Having conversations about whether you want to be buried, cremated, turned into a diamond or helping to build a reef are important and can be fun. But what’s most important is letting someone else know what your preferences are.
At Y Collaborative, we help facilitate those conversations and we offer a workbook, “Put Life in Order, Put Worry Away,” that can be used to ensure that you are communicating effectively and clearly. Order Your Workbook Copy Here

However, after years of experience, if the following quote applies to you, we laughingly invite you to consider heeding its advice: “If your relationship has more issues than your magazine, you might want to cancel your subscription.”
